CBE Publications

For CBE to succeed in its essential mission to advance the understanding and practice of business ethics, we must also be on the forefront of research into the place of ethics in the dynamic and rapidly evolving domain of business.  We deliver on CBE’s mission in many ways, from holding public lectures to educational courses for ethics officers, but one of our most important contributions is to help articulate the ideas that form our contemporary understanding of the ethical dimensions of business.  This understanding is expressed through various types of publications, including the following:

In the “Articles” section we list those pieces written by scholars associated with CBE as staff, executive fellows, visiting scholars, or research fellows, among others. These articles appear in both academic journals and the popular press.

Under “Books” are listed those books published by scholars associated with the CBE, as well as books in the Wiley-Blackwell “Foundations of Business Ethics” series edited by the Center, as well as books that constitute the proceedings from conferences organized by CBE.

Associated with the “Surveys” link is a list of surveys conducted by CBE.  This complements the more extensive list of surveys pertaining to business ethics and financial performance from non-CBE sources that appears under the “External Resources” link on our website.

The link to “Business and Society Review” provides background on the official journal of the CBE, which is one of the leading quarterly publications in its field, covering the latest in scholarly research in business ethics.

And finally, associated with the “William Woodside's Public Lectures” link can be found the archives entrusted to CBE of the many lectures on business ethics given by William Woodside (1922- 2000), the former CEO of Primerica.
